Buddhist monks bless Multihull Solutions Thailand office

MHSofficeblessingBuddhist monks have blessed the Multihull Solutions office in Thailand, marking the official opening of the company’s South East Asian operation.

In early March, three Buddhist monks from a local monastery visited the Multihull Solutions office in Phuket to conduct a Khun Wan Mai Thai ceremony that is traditionally held to bless and bring good luck to a new business premises.

The ceremony involved the lighting of candles and joss sticks at an altar with the monks sitting higher than the Multihull Solutions Thailand team. The monks recited three sets of chants in the ancient Sanskrit text of Pali that invited the spirits to the ceremony, sought Buddha’s blessing, and provided an offering to the ancestors.

During the ritual the Multihull Solutions team, led by general manager Andrew de Bruin, poured water into a small bowl and were instructed to “think only good thoughts.” The head monk then blessed the office with splashings of holy water and made markings known as a yantra above the main office window to ward off evil and bestow luck upon all of the company’s employees.

In keeping with the ceremony’s tradition, offerings of food were made to the monks, who stated that “the Multihull Solutions team were very respectful farangs [foreigners]”.

Since the company’s launch at the 2014 PIMEX show, Multihull Solutions has been overwhelmed by the response to its expansion into Asia. The team has already sold a number of new multihulls as well as securing contracts on several pre-owned brokerage catamarans.

Multihull Solutions is the exclusive distributor of Fountaine Pajot and Catana Catamarans in south east Asia and also represent Sunreef Yachts, TAG Yachts, NEEL Trimarans and Privilège Catamarans in the region.

The company has offices in Phuket and Singapore to provide sales and service for new and pre-owned multihulls.

Multihull Solutions Thailand general manager Andrew de Bruin said the successful launch of the business in the region was a strong indicator for future performance.

“We are thrilled with the response from new and pre-owned boat buyers and sellers alike,” Andrew said.

“It’s been a hectic but rewarding start to the year, and we expect the following twelve months will truly consolidate our presence as South East Asia’s premier multihull specialist,” he said.

Multihull Solutions will also be at the 2014 Singapore Yacht Show in April where they will showcase the Summerland 40 and the Queensland 55 by Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts. The magnificent Sunreef 70 Power will also be on display at the show.
