Privilège Catamarans

Privilege Catamarans overview

With an outstanding pedigree, Privilège produces arguably the finest cruising catamarans in the world. The company was created in 1985 by internationally renowned sailor Phillipe Jeantot who twice won the BOC and founded of the famous Vendee Globe yacht race. Drawing on his extensive expérience, Jeantot was inspired to design catamarans that set a new benchmark in construction quality, comfort, safety and performance.

By 1989, Privilège had become an industry leader, dominating theUSA cruising catamaran market. Its continued commitment to excellence has been recognised by numerous prestigious awards including the The International Trophee of Quality in 1992, and the Privilège 45 and 42 have been awarded USA Boat of the Year.

In 1996, under Alliaura Marine’s name and with new shareholders, the Privilège brand confirmed its position as the world authority in large catamarans over 15 metres; over 60 vessels ranging from 18-23m were delivered around the world, with the highly acclaimed Privilège 745 the flagship of the fleet.

Today, on the historic site at Les Sables d’Olonne (west coast of France), Privilège Marine has gathered a highly qualified, enthusiastic and committed team of 35 professionals, led by CEO Gilles Wagner. No fewer than 600 Privilège yachts, including 80 boats over 17 metres, are sailing all around the world.
