2013 Pittwater Rendezvous

Welcome to the Inaugural Pittwater Rendezvous held in conjunction with the 2013 Lock Crowther Multihull Regatta!

Dates: 4 – 6 October 2013

Cruising multihulls are invited to set sail for an adventurous weekend on the stunning waterways of Sydney’s Pittwater region within sight of some of the most exciting multihull racing in the country, all in honour of famed multihull designer Lock Crowther.

The Rendezvous is a casual multihull sailing event specifically designed for fun, socialising and unforgettable cruising. Enjoy a relaxed itinerary of sailing in company with other multihull enthusiasts, exchange cruising stories and sailing tips, inspect the range of participating catamarans and trimarans, meet new friends and take in the spectacular scenery of Pittwater.

This is not a racing event and the emphasis of the Rendezvous is on having fun so there are frequent stops for social functions and downtime for relaxation with friends or in the tranquillity of your own multihull. Prizes are awarded for participants who best embrace the spirit of the Rendezvous!

The Pittwater Rendezvous will be run from the Royal Motor Yacht Club (RMYC) in Newport. Online registration is now available by clicking here.

Special racing insurance coverage is not required, however we do require you ensure all appropriate personal insurance is in order.

Who can enter?

Set against the magnificent waterways of Pittwater, anyone can join in for a weekend of sailing and serious fun! Any brand of multihull, private or charter, power or sail, large or small, as long as your vessel is a multihull you are welcome to enter!

Friday 4th October:

5.00pm
Welcome Social and Open Yachts

Enjoy drinks and mingling with fellow sailors.
You can also board some of the participating yachts in the Rally and see how your fellow sailors are cruising!

Registration and Sailing Packets will be distributed.

 7.00pm
Dinner Function

Skippers Briefing

Rally Start – enjoy a morning sailing,
course will be announced at the briefing and set on the day depending on prevailing weather conditions.

Afternoon mooring or anchoring at a protected Pittwater Bay for some fun afternoon activities following lunch.

7.00 pm
*Dinner and Dance Party!
Come dressed as your Yacht so others will know which boat you’re on…time to get creative, this can be entertaining!
Live entertainment by Bonniedoon. Prizes for best outfit!
*Drinks at individual expense.

Afternoon mooring or anchoring at a protected Pittwater Bay for some fun afternoon activities following lunch.

Meet back at the RMYC for final presentation and farewell dinner.
*Drinks and meal at individual expense.

10.00pm
Event close.

Berthing:
Please contact Peter Moxham from the RMYC (contact details below) directly to arrange berthing for your vessel. Mention you are part of the Multihull Solutions Pittwater Rendezvous for a special rate. Please pay all berthing fees direct to the Club.

Please note berths are limited so be sure to get in early.

Wining and Dining:

The fees set out in the entry form cover the direct costs of a welcome drink and snacks on Friday night and dining on Saturday for two people. Additional meals can be purchased for $25 per person for the Saturday event. Sunday presentation dinner is at own expense. Cost is $50 per person or $25 for children. Before you set sail, please ensure you have catered for your crew for all meals and beverages not included in the event.

What to bring and wear:

Smart casual attire is required for the functions at the RMYC. Please wear collared shirts and covered shoes. Also, please respect and observe the standard No Hats or Caps inside Yacht Club policy.

Be sure to bring dress up outfits for the figurehead competition and suitably themed attire for Saturday night’s “Dress as Your Yacht”. Also bring along any other games or toys you will need to make the weekend enjoyable.

You will be given your welcome kits on the Saturday morning at the RMYC registration. This kit will include a name badge which we would appreciate that you wear at all social functions during the event.

Committee Vessel:
The committee vessel will be the Charles Linnegar flying the RMYC burgee and a Multihull Solutions flag.

Radio Channel:
Communication will be via VHF channel 77 or 0422-041-798. Please refrain from using the radio at three minutes past the hour and half hour.
