Mark Elkington, Managing Director Mark has been involved in the marine industry for his entire life, starting his sailing career in dinghies as a child in Western Australia, and he then sailed regularly with renowned yachtsmen like John Sanders in his youth. After completing studies at the Fremantle Maritime College, he bought his first cruising boat at the age of 20 and was a Safety Officer for the America’s Cup in 1987. Mark moved to Hamilton Island soon after to manage luxury vessels and was the inaugural President of the Hamilton Island Cruising Yacht Club. His passion for multihulls was nurtured, and Mark imported the first Lagoon Catamarans, worked on the interior redesign of the Perry 43, and assisted the growth of Catana in the region. Married with two boys, Mark has kayaked over 2500kms to raise money for childhood leukemia, and sailed more than 10,000nm in various offshore races including the Sydney to Hobart.

Richard Kilburn, Commercial Director Born and bred in Yorkshire, England, Richard’s passion for boats was ignited when he single handed a mirror dinghy at the age of seven. Never far from the water since then, Richard has instructed and raced in several classes including Prindle and Nacra catamarans. He moved to Australia in 1997 in his role as IBM General Business Sales Manager and quickly developed a strong network in the Australian IT industry. His last role working for EMC (a global hardware and software organisation) saw Richard winning the Global Account Manager of the Year title and then a promotion to Country Manager for New Zealand.
A love of Australia saw him become an Australian citizen in 2001 and it wasn’t long before the smell of the saltwater lured him out of the board room and back to the ocean. Aboard Lionheart, his 42ft Tayana yacht, Richard and his wife Jane, spent two years blissful cruising the South Pacific. Now based on the Sunshine Coast, Richard is a keen kiteboarder and windsurfer, and is actively involved in the marine community.
