Rojer Overall at Lightwave Yachts Coomera, Queensland, Australia
Built by Roger Overall at Lightwave yachts in Coomera, QLD. Giddy Up is based on a Tony Grainger design. Lightwave catamarans are very popular for their performance capabilities as well as being a popular choice for charter operations.
The Lightwave 38 is a delight to sail, the fully battened mainsail, self- tacking jib, and a huge self-furling screecher. There are plenty of winches, including an electric winch for the main, and plenty of clutches.
The new owner should have the knowledge she has been built strong, with lots of safety features and to a current full AMSA survey for 4C-8 person, and 4D -12 persons. Giddy Up also has forward bookings with All Sail at Church Point, Pittwater, Sydney for the upcoming charter season. The new owner can choose to take advantage of this income or remove the vessel from these charter commitments.
Lightwaves are also designed for ocean (blue water) sailing with a high bridge deck, fast but with enough weight to provide a comfortable ride. The owners have done several trips up and down the East Coast of Australia and it has been very comfortable and a pleasure to cruise in. Many trips around the Whitsunday Islands in all sorts of weather conditions, including several in Gale-force conditions, proved to us, she is capable of anything in the way of rough weather. Lightwave yachts regularly perform well at Hamilton Island race week.
Giddy Up was built by the Kingham family to be an owner’s catamaran, so it has many extra features above the base model and has had the benefits of having lots of tender care and maintenance you expect from an owner’s catamaran.
Giddy Up has been a wonderful family cruising catamaran, fast and a joy to sail, well loved and cared for by her owners.
