2021 Farrier F85SR Trimaran
Sick of finishing second in your local regatta? Want to take line honours every single week instead? Live life in the fast lane with this absolute rocket ship – a brand new Farrier F85SR trimaran.
An extremely rare, high-performance tri, built stringently to Ian Farrier’s specifications along with additional customisations, this brand-new boat is not be for the fainthearted.
With no expense spared during the build, you will be hard pressed to come across a trimaran in this size range with such an impressive list of features, high end parts, loads of carbon, and an impeccable pro-am finish by the owner with assistance and plenty of custom work from a professional shipwright.
The boat was built using a Corecell foam core with ATL Kinetic epoxy resin, 400gm unidirectional and 600gm bidirectional glass, with a carbon layer for maximum strength with minimum weight. There is a carbon daggerboard, carbon rudder, carbon tiller, carbon retractable bowsprit, and of course the brand-new carbon main, jib and screecher from Core Sails, Dyneema halyards, standing rigging and running rigging, and oversized Harken 40 series winches.
The fully battened main is simple to raise, reef, and lower thanks to a furling boom from All Yacht Spars (who also supplied the rotating mast). The jib and screecher are both furling on Karver endless line furlers.
When racing, take control using the beautiful custom-made carbon tiller, and when cruising, take a break by connecting the Simrad autopilot and Simrad GPS for effortless mile making. When it’s time to come back to the boat ramp or motor up to your mooring for the night, lower the new 9.8hp Tohatsu using the electric trim, crank it over with the push of a button, and cruise comfortably at 8 knots.
All three hulls have been coated on the bottom with a super hard layer of epoxy for added protection when beached.
Step onto the brand-new Ferrari nets to access your floats, which include Lewmar hatches, and have a fixed floor with drainage inside each float to keep your sails and other toys dry while stored.
The builder has thought of so many extra features, including removable carbon mast raising brackets (to avoid getting sheets caught around them), increased cabin height from Farrier’s specs to give more headroom when down below, timber cabin floor for fast drainage and drying, and even has had the trailer custom built to allow the floats to be unfolded whilst on the trailer for easy maintenance.
Speaking of trailers, the boat comes on a brand-new Transfield alloy trailer with stainless steel brakes and upgraded SS rotors and callipers.
Inside the cabin, you will find a comfortable twin V-berth forward, single berth to starboard and a single berth aft. There is a great galley, which can be setup in less than 60 seconds with plenty of preparation space, sink, two-burner gas stove, and a saloon table that comfortably seats four. There is even a private bathroom with manual head.
There are receipts for everything included in the build, which add up to significantly more than the listing price. As stated earlier, no expense was spared, and this is an opportunity to buy a high-performance, high-quality race trimaran for a fraction of the cost of the build.
Lying in QLD, this sought-after F85SR is ready to sail and can be shipped anywhere in the world.
