First Australian Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 to arrive in March

The first Australian Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 is set to arrive in Western Australia in February and will be unveiled at the 2013 Hillarys Boat Show from 15-17 March.

The new blue water cruising catamaran is the result of in-depth collaboration between the Fountaine Pajot team and the Berret Racoupeau architects office.

With its name derived from the Greek term for ‘ray of light’, the Helia 44 is the nineteenth model launched by Fountaine Pajot in the company’s 30-year history.

Impressive offshore performance, optimal safety and ease of handling are at the forefront of the Helia 44’s design, and it has breathtaking features that set new standards in the cruising catamaran market.

Clerestory windows bathe the expansive living areas in natural light, while the cabins are also fitted with generous windows to afford unprecedented views. Huge volumes in the saloon and accommodation areas are complemented by an elegant contemporary design.

This first Australian Helia 44 has been purchased by a Western Australian couple who intend to compete in the 2013 Fremantle to Bali rally, then enjoy some cruising in Asian waters before returning to Australia.
