Multihull Solutions breaks sales records at Sydney International Boat Show

Multihull Solutions celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Sydney International Boat Show with record sales, taking orders on nine new power and sail multihulls to the value of AUD$11m.

It was the most successful boat show in the company’s history and a compelling testament to the increasing popularity of multihulls in the marine industry.

Fountaine Pajot continues to be a firm favourite with cruising clients with all show orders placed for the shipyard’s sail and motor yacht range.

Five orders were taken for the beautiful Helia 44 Evolution sailing catamaran, with four of the Australian clients choosing to collect their new boats from the shipyard in France in 2019.  Each of the buyers purchased the catamaran for private use with plans to embark on world cruising adventures.

Two Lucia 40 sailing catamarans were ordered by New Zealand and Queensland clients with delivery scheduled for 2019 and 2020, while a stunning Victoria 67 sailing catamaran has been sold to a family who will receive their new boat in 2019 and then begin an unforgettable cruising venture around the world.

The new MY 44 by Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts was launched at the show and enjoyed overwhelming interest, with an order taken on the impressive power cat by a Queensland couple. The MY 44 has garnered worldwide attention since its recent European launch due to its remarkable capacity (2,000nm on one tank of fuel), stunning design, expansive flybridge and numerous entertaining areas including foredeck lounge.

After the show, the Multihull Solutions team conducted several test sails on the Fountaine Pajot sail and power range, and the company anticipates further orders will follow as a result.

Multihull Solutions managing director Mark Elkington said the 2017 Sydney International Boat Show was a staggering success for the company and well exceeded their sales forecasts for the event.

“We have never experienced the level of interest that we had at the Sydney show, with our entire team run off their feet to cater for the constant stream of genuine buyers at our stand,” Mark said.

“It is exciting to see how multihulls are now being well and truly embraced by the cruising community, and we’re thrilled to represent the world leader builders in the industry,” he said.

“Fountaine Pajot continues to produce magnificent models, and it’s gratifying to see cruisers recognise the unbeatable value and quality that these sail and power cats deliver.

“We received numerous comments from visitors to the show that the quality and design of our boats is clearly ahead of our competitors, which made their decision to purchase an easy one.”
