In response to continued growth, Multihull Solutions has announced the addition of two new sales offices in New South Wales.
The company now has an office in Pittwater and another on Sydney Harbour to cater for the increasing demand for multihulls in Australia’s southern states.
Managing these New South Wales operations are Multihull Solutions’ new Sydney licensees, Rod Waterhouse and David Renouf, both of whom bring an ocean of knowledge and experience in the multihull industry.
Rod Waterhouse has an impressive history dealing with multihulls, having built a Cobra catamaran with his father as a child, before embarking on Hobie racing on the international stage. Rod won the Worrall 1000 race in the United States three times, came second seven times, and is the current Hobie Masters World Champion. He has delivered numerous boats up and down the Australian coast, as well as many to Australia from Europe, USA and the Pacific, and even sailed a Hobie 18 from Sydney to Hobart. Head broker at David Bray Yachts since 2005, Multihull Solutions is excited that Rod is bringing unparalleled experience in sailing and sales to their team.
David Renouf also possesses a remarkable amount of multihull knowledge and experience, building his first cat with his father at the tender age of 13, and racing it from the Pittwater Sailing Club throughout the ’70s, before progressing to the European Formula 40 circuit, competing in other international events throughout the USA, Europe and Australia, building boats for Nacra, sailmaking at the Skip Elliot loft, becoming a sponsored Worrell 1000 competitor, and later building the A-class catamaran that won the Australian nationals in 1989. Collecting a swag of national and world titles, David has also collaborated on major boat-building projects with award winning yacht designers in Australia, New Zealand and the US, yielding a wealth of knowledge on multihull design.
In the 1980s, David built up a successful Californian multihull brokerage that specialised in performance cruising catamarans and became Catana Catamarans’ largest dealer. Back in Australia, David has represented Seawind Catamarans and Corsair Trimarans. He has sailed and raced across the world’s oceans and coasts, and now enjoys exploring Australia’s coastlines on his Dash 750 with his wife and three kids, and the couple are the 2011 Australian National Multihull Champions.
