Multihull Solutions rallies all multihull enthusiasts for exotic sailing events

Posted: Wednesday 7th August 2013.

Multihull enthusiasts don’t just enjoy more comfortable, safe and spacious cruising than their monohull counterparts, the announcement of a host of multihull rallies proves they also have more fun.

Cruisers are spoilt for choice with social rallies over the next 12 months including the memorable Multihull Solutions Whitsunday Multihull Rendezvous from 2-8 September, the Multihull Solutions Pittwater Rally from 4-6 October and two Mariner Boating international multihull rallies in the Mediterranean and Caribbean in early 2014.

Now recognised as Australia’s premier power and sail multihull cruising rally, the Multihull Solutions Whitsunday Rendezvous has already received a large number entries and is shaping up to be the best in the event’s history.

The 2013 itinerary and entry form – now – reveals plans for a week of superb sailing through the Whitsunday islands with frequent stops for unforgettable social functions, exploring and relaxing.

Relaxed power and sailing rallies around the idyllic islands are punctuated by social functions including a Welcome function in Airlie Beach, dining at Cape Gloucester Eco-Resort, the famous Prawn and Punch party at Whitehaven Beach, figurehead competitions, and a fantastic Presentation Dinner on Hamilton Island at the conclusion of the Rendezvous. Making the most of the breathtaking scenery, the week also includes activities such as island bushwalks, fishing, snorkelling and beach games.

Competition again will be fierce to secure the range of prizes on offer for those who best embrace the event’s defining spirit of fun.

The Multihull Rendezvous continues to be hugely popular because of its formula that brings together serious sailors and leisurely cruisers in a spectacular environment.

Multihull Solutions managing director Mark Elkington said the Rendezvous has become a major calendar event for the company with most previous participants returning year after year.

“Over the past few years, we’ve created a truly memorable event that attracts a great bunch of people who really know how to fully appreciate the sailing and social action in the breathtaking Whitsundays.

“The Rendezvous has also become a very effective forum for multihull enthusiasts to view other catamaran and trimaran brands and models, while exchanging cruising stories and multihull tips.”

The Multihull Solutions team hosts the event and is on hand each day to provide valuable information on maximising the performance and handling of their boat, as well as tips on options to make cruising life even easier.

The Multihull Rendezvous is not limited to those with their own boats. If entrants can’t relocate their own multihull or do not own a boat, the various Whitsunday charter companies offer a range of options so everyone can join the action.

Entry details and further information on the 2013 Multihull Rendezvous can be obtained by visiting the Rendezvous webpage or contact Rachel Haynes on 1300 855 338 or email rachel@multihullsolutions.com.au.

Those in the southern states won’t miss out on the fun with the 2013 Multihull Solutions Pittwater Rally scheduled from 4-6 October.

Run in conjunction with the Lock Crowther Multihull Regatta and hosted by the Royal Motor Yacht Club, the Pittwater Rally offers competitive racing for “grand prix” multis as well as cruising boats.

In 2013 the Rally also includes an exclusive and extremely social cruising division that is open to cruising multihulls of any size to sail in company, meet fellow cruisers, view other boats, and enjoy sailing the magnificent waters of Pittwater and Broken Bay.

Multihull Solutions has also joined forces with Mariner Boating to showcase two exciting new international multihull rallies in early 2014.

The Caribbean Canter Yacht Rally will take place from 28 February to 10 March, encompassing a cruise through the Leeward Islands between Antigua and St Martin. Including the pristine islands of Barbuda and Saba. The rally race program is low key with some serious parties, and is designed to get participants from one destination to the next while soaking up the colourful mix of cultures and spectacular landscape. We will sail one way from Antigua to St Martin and include the totally unspoiled islands of Barbuda and Saba into the mix.

The Sail Tahiti Yacht Rally from 13-24 April in 2014 comprises an unforgettable cruise through the spectacular Leeward Islands of French Polynesia aboard a spirited Catana 41 or renowned Catana 47.

The rally will take in some of the world’s most beautiful locations including the ‘vanilla island’ of Taha’a and the stunning island of Bora Bora where lush valleys blossom with hibiscus, sparkling white beaches circle the emerald lagoon, and brilliant fish and giant manta rays glide through endless coral gardens. The itinerary also includes a cruise to the ‘woman island’ of Huahine where mirror-like lagoons reflect phosphorescent coral formations that lay scattered in and along the reefs, a stop at Faaroa Bay, and night at the diving and spiritual mecca of Raiatea, which legend holds to be the cradle of Polynesian civilisation.

Multihull Solutions is offering a special deal to its newsletter subscribers, with a $300 discount on their international rally holiday if they mention “Multihull Solutions” in their booking enquiry. This offer is valid until 5pm (AEST) on Wednesday, 31 July.

Participants can also use these international rallies as a great way to try before they buy.
