Nearly 300 multihull enthusiasts satiated their appetite for sails on sale by visiting Multihull Solution’s Open Day in February at The Boat Works in Coomera’s Marine Precinct on the Gold Coast.
It’s a rare event to be able to explore and compare the world’s best multihulls both in and out of the water while being flanked with the knowledge of experts in their field. The enthusiasts toured the brand new Lipari 41 Evolution and Sanya 57 by Fountaine Pajot, as well as the speedy Catana 42 as well as numerous other new and pre-owned multihulls.
Informative manufacturer presentations from Fountaine Pajot, Privilege, Sunreef and Catana were completely booked out. And savvy buyers left understanding the differences between an extensive range of brands including Lagoon, Seawind, Leopard, Grainger, Schionning, Waller, Fusion, Chincogan, and more.
Multihull Solutions managing director Mark Elkington said the event was extremely successful. “The event was so popular that we have committed to hosting them on a bi-annual basis,” Mark said.
“It is a fantastic forum for potential buyers to analyse the different brands, receive invaluable industry knowledge, and develop a clear understanding of what best suits their individual cruising needs.”
Before Multihull Solutions began tenancy at The Boat Works, Gold Coast boat lovers had never had the opportunity to view such a range of vessels on show. The overwhelming popularity of the company’s new sales location has revealed the significant shift in buyers towards multihulls.
“Our Out-of-Water Sales Centre at The Boat Works has undoubtedly broadened the market for us. The Gold Coast is renowned for its love of the water and has a thriving boating community,” Mark said. “We are continuing to see many clients convert from monohulls to multihulls, as they recognise the numerous benefits including stability, safety, comfort, performance, and fuel-efficiency.
Interest was intense at the Open Day with at least four provisional orders taken on new and pre-owned multihulls.
“It was an impressive turnout and no doubt good exposure for the facility. It’s also a reinforcement on how we’re delivering to the multihull market and building the Multihull Capital of Australia,” says David Whyte, general manager of The Boat Works.
Multihull owners can lift, dry store, work and reside on their boats at the facility without being charged for their extra length or width.
