P615 2009-8 Malta _8Multihull Solutions is bracing itself for strong interest when it launches the remarkable Privilège 615 sailing catamaran at the 2014 Sydney International Boat Show.

One of the world’s most prestigious builders of cruising catamarans, Privilège Yachts has recently joined Multihull Solutions’ exclusive stable of represented brands in Australia and New Zealand.

The Privilège 615 epitomises the shipyard’s emphasis on quality, unparalleled comfort, reliability and navigating pleasure, while shattering benchmarks in construction techniques and design.

Manufactured under a rigorous process, the catamaran’s hull, nacelle, and deck are constructed with infusion of glass and vinylester sandwich configuration. The internal structure comprises transverse and longitudinal vacuum sandwich bulkheads, directly stratified to the hull and the deck. This process ensures optimal strength and lightness while providing for the flexibility needed to accommodate forces experienced in offshore conditions.

The Privilège 615 also features Privilege’s signature nacelle, which is set ahead of the mast and affords increased living space, improved mechanical resistance, enhanced stability and comfort, reduced sea spray through the forward netting, and a dedicated area for the anchor locker and windlass support.

The Privilège 615 is designed for safe and easy navigation with just two crew, and the catamaran is available with the option of one or two steering stations. Protected from the elements, the central steering station offers panoramic views across the deck.

The catamaran’s deck has been designed to be obstacle free and ergonomic, and the rigging features electric winches and windlass, and all sheets are efficiently managed from the steering station.

The cockpit in the Privilège 615 is capacious and the ultimate setting for relaxing or entertaining. Protected by the hardtop flybridge, the cockpit features a starboard saloon with teak table and decadent seating.

The wide catwalks offer excellent safety and are edged with 3-row lifelines. Two forward trampolines are popular spots for soaking up the views and sea air, while the forward peak is also fitted with teak seats secured by stainless steel pulpits. The transoms are spacious and stable, and conveniently function as swimming platforms, open-air showers, and bases for recreational activities including fishing, diving and tender access.

One of the most significant features of the Privilège 615 is its incredible 180m2 of elegant living space. Light-filled and spacious, the saloon comprises a generous chart table with state-of-the-art electronic equipment, a bar that can be configured according to individual clients’ needs, a stylish dining area with large table that seats eight guests, an L-shaped banquette, and sumptuous sofas for lounging around at sea.

The galley configuration is also adaptable according to individual preferences, and its incredible fixtures and finishes will capture the hearts of gourmands. The generous companionways present a host of options, and can function to accommodate a wine cellar, fresh produce pantry, laundry, and additional storage.

The cabins in the Privilège 615 evoke the luxury of world-class hotels, with ample natural lighting and ventilation courtesy of longitudinal hull windows and deck hatches. Featuring the very highest standards in cabinetry, finishes and fittings, the cabins are idyllic zones for privacy and relaxation. Each double cabin in the standard version includes its own ensuite with separate multi-jet shower.

The Privilège 615 is available in a four-cabin or five-cabin layout.

Established in 1985 by double world champion solo racer and founder of the Vendée Globe, Philippe Jeantot, Privilège Yachts is now recognised as an undisputable leader in the luxury cruising catamaran market and has an exciting future under the management of its new owners.

Since the shipyard’s inception, more than 600 Privilège yachts ranging from 12-23 metres in length, have been sold and are sailing the world’s oceans.

Multihull Solutions will be hosting the exclusive Australian launch of the Privilège 615 at the Sydney International Boat Show from their marina stand in Darling Harbour.
