As the next stage of development comes to fruition at The Boat Works facility, business is booming. Located on 22.7 acres of Coomera riverfront on Queensland’s Gold Coast, The Boat Works has doubled its offering in the past two years, in every facet of its operations.
“That’s not just in the number of boats we lift, we’ve doubled our marina capacity, doubled our waterblast capacity, taken the number of tenants from 15 to 30, doubling customer choice,” says general manager, David Whyte.
This evolution has been the product of listening to customers, as well as the input of The Boat Works’ hands-on chief executive officer, Tony Longhurst.
“From the very start, Tony created the environment he would want as a discerning boat owner himself,” says Whyte.
One of the first initiatives was the padded runway approaches on lifts to ensure boats are carried as carefully as possible.
“Everything we’ve done aims to take the stress out of coming here. By the time clients sit down and have their complimentary coffee, their boat is meticulously lifted. We like to say The Boat Works is a resort for your boat!”
The Boat Works offers boat owners berthing, three options for boat lifting, including the recently acquired 100-tonne travel lift ‘Harry 100,’ which can handle vessels up to 110 feet in length, with a beam of 26 feet, repair and maintenance services within the hardstand or in a refit shed and a covered hardstand for longterm storage.
