Brand new Fountaine Pajot Lipari 41 “Caprice” sets sail …

Posted 28 June 2011.

Recently retired couple Paul and Sue Lancaster bought their Fountaine Pajot Lipari 41 at the 2010 Sanctuary Cove Boat Show. The Lancasters hail from Yepoon on the mid Queensland coast so are not unfamiliar with boating in tropical waters after owning many trailer sailors over the years. Now equipped with their dream cruising cat, they have short term plans to continue to sail and explore the Queensland Coast and the islands of the Great Barrier Reef with a long term vision of venturing out into the Pacific.

Having taken delivery of their beautiful Lipari 41 in May this year they tell us that they chose the Lipari 41 after looking at many cats between 40 – 45 ft. The Lipari 41 ticked more boxes than any other and at the end of much research and pondering they simply “fell in love” with the Lipari 41.

Here is an update from them since leaving Mooloolaba, Queensland.

Hi Mark,

Nice to hear from you. We had an enjoyable four night trip home with the last day was without wind but couldn’t have asked for nicer weather. Left Mooloolaba at 4 am very dark past Noosa before light started to appear. Wide Bay Bar at about 12.30pm and Gary’s Landing about 2.30pm.

We are elated to have our boat and love her more and more every day. She is the talking point of the marina with lots of people “ogling” over her and taking photographs and making all sorts of complimentary comments. I don’t think there is another Fountaine Pajot in the marina so created lots of interest.

We had her christening at the Capricorn Cruising Yacht Club last Saturday about 60 people and a few seasoned yachties. They loved the boat.

I’m sure we’ll catch up soon, we’re heading north at end of July (Shoalwater Bay Training Area –Pearl Bay, Port Clinton – are closed for exercise Talisman Sabre from 1 July to 31 July) So 1st of August we start heading towards Whitsundays.

See you soon.

Paul & Sue
