Buon giorno everyone! Yes, it’s us, the Terrible Traveling Tebbutts, back to annoy you with another season of Midi’s Meanderings.
After a more or less uneventful trip (Bruce lost his wallet – thinks he may have left it on the plane seat) to Rome, we were somewhat anxious as we landed as we did not have a lot of time to catch our internal flight to Catania in Sicily so it was a frantic rush to collect our bags, and then dash to the domestic departures. Good old Ryannair – after our anxiety in checking in on time – we then sat on the runway for about forty minutes before we got in the air! It then meant that we did not get to ourhotel in Catania until about 1am and upon checking into our room – what a disappointment! The hotel on line appeared to have gorgeous old rooms but we were informed we had been put into the new sections – all black/ fake steel/glass – yuck. The next day we were shifted to another room – bliss. The interior of the hotel had magnificent rooms and a wonderful restaurant in the converted cellars down below.
