I had the privilege of skippering a Fountaine Pajot Salina 48 Evolution on a delivery trip from Brisbane to Sydney where this Catamaran was to be displayed at the boat show. The weather conditions were totally against us due to a deep low off the NSW coast (4 metres swell with a 1.5 metres sea and 30 to 35 knots on the nose) , and being a seasoned monohull sailor I had my doubts as per the capabilities of reaching our destination .
What I discovered was an incredibly sea worthy vessel which handle the conditions without any problems while achieving great SOG sailing with a 45 to 50 degrees wind angle for most of the journey .
The owner and his wife were on board and at all time felt safe and comfortable .
My conclusion, I would go anywhere around the world with this great catamaran and this is without any doubt the perfect vessel for a circumnavigation .
Thanks to the Multihull Solutions team for this great opportunity!
Cheers,
