The popular Summerland 40 by Trawler Catamarans has proven its exceptional economy, with one boat covering 1885 miles in Europe with an average of under two litres per mile.
On a recent demo day organised by Trawler’s North European agents, the Summerland 40 proved its outstanding fuel efficiency, speed and performance on its passage from La Rochelle to Stockholm.
Carl Livett skippered the Summerland 40 on the first leg of its trip from La Rochelle, through the Bay of Biscay and across the English Channel. During this voyage of 350 miles, the Trawler averaged 17-17 knots, representing an excellent compromise between fuel consumption and speed.
“The Summerland’s sea keeping ability was very good; the crew were especially impressed at how comfortable the Summerland was in Force 6 conditions, noting that a conventional power boat would not venture out in these conditions!” said Livett.
