La Rana | Fastback 32
The Fastback 32 is a unique, go anywhere coastal cruiser. La Rana is a solidly built fibreglass catamaran that is easy to handle and is lying in Mooloolaba, ready to cast off for her next adventure.
Her current owners have recently returned from an extended cruise of the Queensland coast, exploring the outer barrier reefs, tropical islands and secluded anchorages.
Fastback Catamarans were designed by John Goss to incorporate unique features and functionality to maximise the cruising experience in a responsive and easily managed compact vessel.
Some of these unique features include beaching ability with lift rudders and solid keels. The ever-reliable Yanmar 30hp Diesel engine has a retractable sail drive in a central mount position allowing the leg and prop to be lifted out of the water for beaching and to reduce maintenance.
La Rana’s central saloon cabin has a slide-back roof and excellent all-round views to enjoy while sailing or relaxing and can be fully opened to the cockpit area. The dinette table can be extended or dropped to sleep two.
The cabins, while of a simple plan, provide deceptively spacious and airy living and sleeping accommodation. A functional galley with excellent refrigeration is located on the port side with a dinette / master bed aft and separate double berth forward.
The starboard hull houses another forward double berth, navigation station and a sizable bathroom aft. The 1.9m headroom in the hulls makes this boat a joy to move around.
This is a must-see yacht for the budget coastal cruiser. Whether you are a single-hander or small family, this boat has it all and promises unforgettable adventures. There is nothing to spend on her and she’s raring to go.
