Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 rounds the Horn!
Some people buy a catamaran for lazy weekend cruises around their local bays. Others have a passion for adventure and spend months sailing across oceans. Then there are those who round Cape Horn – the Everest of the boating industry!
We’re delighted to report the first pictures of a Fountaine Pajot successfully conquering Cape Horn recently, proving the outstanding offshore performance and capabilities of the company’s catamarans.
Mr and Mrs Roland Stanton sailed around Cape Horn aboard their Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 “Spirit of Africa”.
The couple were novice sailors when they purchased the catamaran two years ago, but wanted to realise their dream of sailing around the world. To date “Spirit of Africa” has covered around 10,000nm and the couple is keen to sail for as long as they can.
There will be more to come from the Stanton’s as they pursue their dream of sailing around the world.
